El Camino Real Road/Bridge widening project
In July 2006 the City of San Diego issued a Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the El Camino Real bridge project.
The project would raise El Camino Real above the 100-year food level and replace the existing bridge with a higher, wider bridge with deeper piles slightly to the east of the present bridge which will ultimately be demolished. The project requested federal funding in the amount of $19 million. Several comments were received by the City of San Diego which is now in the process of re-issuing the EIR.
We are aware of no recent submission from the City of San Diego in 2012.
